In March this year Specsavers launched a national advertising campaign comparing the prices of their contact lenses with Boots. They were keen to shout about how much you, the customers, would save buying your contact lenses from them. We of course were keen to shout much louder that our prices were miles better than Specsavers so we took their advert and added another column showing GetLenses prices. We emailed the findings to our customers and posted it to our blog. Specsavers didn't like that one bit and threatened legal action. They blamed it on us infringing their copyright, of course we knew they didnt like us showing how much more money you would save shopping at GetLenses.co.uk.

Well it's been 6 months and Specsavers are at it again. With full page adverts in the Metro, The Daily Mail and other national newspapers showing the extortionate prices Boots charge for seven different types of Acuvue® Contact Lenses with Specsavers monthly charges and yearly saving proudly displayed next to them and highlighted in Blue. The advert is titled "How can Boots customers save up to £122 a year on Acuvue contact lenses?" can be viewed here. Buying the same lenses from GetLenses.co.uk would save you £156.84 a year and there are fantastic savings on six of the seven lenses compared to Specsavers.
