Monthlies vs. Dailies

The two main categories of lenses are ‘monthly disposable’ and ‘daily disposable’. Both have their benefits – but in the end, it’s down to your preference and what your optician says is right for you.

At GetLenses we provide all of the most popular brands of both dailies and monthlies including Focus Dailies All Day Comfort, 1-day Acuvue Moist, 1-Day Acuvue Trueye, Acuvue Oasys or SofLens Daily Disposable in a wide range of powers so usually you can be certain your lenses are in stock.

If use own-brand lenses from say Boots or Specsavers – we have still got your lenses. It’s just that we stock the lenses in their original packaging rather than having our own name on the box. There’s no need to stay with your optician’s brand of lenses if you can find the equivalent lens here. Click now to find the correct lens equivalent for your prescription.

Monthly contact lenses – benefits

  • Cost. Even when you factor in the cost of the solutions, you’ll usually find that monthlies are significantly cheaper to use than dailies.
  • Less mess. Some contact lens wearers prefer monthly contact lenses because there’s actually less mess. With monthlies, you don’t end the week with a bathroom bin full of individual lens packs.

Daily contact lenses/disposable – benefits

  • In spite of the fact that daily lenses are generally more expensive than monthlies, over two thirds of people buy dailies online rather than monthly contact lenses.
  • No need to clean, just throw them away. As their name would suggest, daily contact lenses are designed to be worn for one day and then disposed of. You don’t need to use solutions or carry them around with you in a case because they come in their own blister pack, complete with solution.

The type of lens you can wear does depend on your prescription. It’s very inadvisable to switch from monthlies to dailies without consulting your optician.
